Biz’s passing comes after it was revealed “he was in a hospice with significant brain damage” following a stroke earlier this month.

It was previously believed he had passed away, with fans of the rapper describing his situation as “brutal” as the false death rumors were spread online.

His rep told Rolling Stone at the time: “The news of Biz Markie’s passing is not true.

“Biz is still under medical care, surrounded by professionals who are working hard to provide the best healthcare possible.”

BIZ EXPLAINS EATING RIGHT BECAME EASIER FOR HIM

After he lost a whopping 140 pounds due to better dieting and exercise, Biz Markie said it was easier to stay at that weight and live a better life.

"I'm maintaining but I think at the beginning of the year, I'm going to try and get down another 10 pounds," he told ABC.

"On the Yo Gabba Gabba! Tour, we eat organic," he said. "I don't pig out."

"When I used to be on stage, I used to be out of breath, I couldn't walk that far," he said. "Now, I got so much energy. I can do a whole show."

BIZ MARKIE SAID HE LOST 140 POUNDS BECAUSE "I WANTED TO LIVE"

The legendary rapper said he lost over 140 pounds following his Type II Diabetes diagnosis because "I wanted to live."

"I wanted to live," Markie told ABC News in 2014. "Since I have to be a diabetic, If I didn't make the changes, it was going to make the diabetes worse. I'm trying to get off [the Diabetes meds]. The way you gotta do it is lose the weight. I'm off half my meds, I just got to get off the rest."

"They said I could lose my feet," he said. "They said I could lose body parts. A lot of things could happen."

"Instead of drinking regular soda, I drink Zevia to make you believia!" he joked. "I love that there's alternatives to eating, because I want to live."

BIZ LOST OVER 100 POUNDS DUE TO DIETING AND EXERCISE

After he was diiagnosed with Type II Diabetes, Biz Markie went onto change his diet and exercise for his health.

"I walk. I do the treadmill, I walk around the mall ... I do a little crunches with my stomach, not that much. Just enough to get the engine going cha-cha-cha-cha-cha-cha! Vroooommmmm," he told the Daily News.

" They be seein’ me, I lost the weight, and I didn’t have to use lap band surgery or whatever ... They see that I did it, and they know I was the greedy, greasy person. So if I can do it, anyone can do it.”

MARKIE RELEASED FIVE ALBUMS DURING HIS LIFE

Markie released a total of five studio albums during his lifetime, including his 1989 hit “Just a Friend.”

His website also states that he booked more than 175 appearances every year.

His second album, 1989’s The Biz Never Sleeps, features his iconic hit Just A Friend, which peaked at 9 on the Billboard Hot 100 singles charts. 

The track was later recognized as one of the Top 100 Greatest One Hit Wonders and as one of the 100 Greatest Songs of Hip Hop by VH1.
